Supportive Therapy for Adults in Montana
You are the expert on you, so let’s be intentional and curious about how to help you feel your best.
Even if you don’t understand why you are struggling, being courageous and curious is a good place to start.
Life can be incredibly overwhelming.
You find yourself struggling to get out of bed each morning, only to be met with a sense of dread and irritability as you try to move through your day. Even though it feels like you can't do it anymore, you get up and do it again anyway. Bathe the kids, feed the dogs, check on your aging parents, go to work, do the shopping, pay the bills, watch the news (yikes)... but why?
What is the point of any of this?
You try not to stay there too long, asking why, because you know you should be grateful. You know so many people have it so much worse than you do, and you really do love so many aspects of your life, but things still feel heavy and hard. The laundry never ends, regardless of how much you work it seems like you can never get ahead, you feel resentful toward your partner for not showing up for you in the ways you need without having to explicitly ask, and you feel guilty for not being “happy enough.”
You don’t have to sit in the feelings alone.
I help individuals who are struggling with finding the “why” in their day-to-day life move from a place of being critical about how they are responding to the world around them, to a place of curiosity. As we begin to better understand the needs and goals at the root of these responses, we begin to truly understand the barriers preventing you from living the life you want to live, confidently and authentically. My clients experience change over time in therapy, not just in their overall mood and perception of the world, but in their relationships, their outlook, and most importantly, how they feel about themselves.
My intention is not to come in and tell you how to live, or to tell you what to believe. Rather, I want to create a safe space for you to explore those things on your own.
For eight years now, I have been helping clients explore and identify the values that have been ingrained in them throughout their lives, then examine and refine them to values that resonate with the person they are today. Together, we explore their life experiences as they tell me their story, and help me understand where they have come from and what they have been through. Through psychoeducation and therapy, clients learn to become kinder to and more confident in themselves, leading them to feel more present and in control of everyday life.
Everyone deserves support, and investing in yourself is totally worth it.
With therapy, I often see clients transform and achieve more love, understanding, and acceptance for who they are and where they have come from. I see them learn to meet themselves with more grace, and live life with a balance that allows for growth and happiness in all aspects of their lives. I often see my clients transform their relationships with their extended family and friends, as we work together to set boundaries that honor the client’s identity and culture as an individual.
Change is possible, and together we can get there.
You know what is working for you, and you know what isn’t working for you. I am not the type of therapist who is going to come in and start directing your life or handing out homework. I believe it is my job to help you create intentional time and space to take a deeper look at the things in your life that are or are not working, so I can help you make the appropriate changes.
